Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

The Chocolate Hazelnuts Cake is a wonderful and delicious cake perfect for both breakfast and dessert. I suggest you to keep the cake in the fridge and to heat it in the microwave before enjoying. You can customize the cake by adding some ingredients to the final mixture, such as grated zest of an orange or a spoon of liquor. Let’s see the Recipe!

  • 2Eggs
  • 150 gCaster Sugar
  • 100 gSunflower Oil
  • 200 gDark Chocolate
  • 100 gPlain Flour
  • 120 gRoasted Hazelnuts
  • 1 teaspoonBaking Powder
  • Chopped Hazelnuts for Garnish


  1. 1- Line a 7 inch springform cake pan (you can use a larger one, keep in mind the cake will need to bake some minutes less)  with some parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray, set aside. Preheat oven to 325°F/180°C.

  2. 2- Melt the Dark Chocolate in the microwave or in a source pan over medium heat, leave to cool.

  3. 3- Roughly grind the Hazelnuts using a food processor, set aside.

  4. 4- Whip the Eggs and the Sugar in a large bowl util soft and whitish using a hand mixer at max speed for about 5 minutes.

  5. 5- Add the warm Dark Chocolate and the Oil, mix again until smooth, add the Plain Flour, the Hazelnuts and Baking Powder, mix again at lower speed until well combined.

  6. 6- Pour the mixture into the cake pan then level it with the back of a spoon, garnish the surface with some extra Hazelnuts.

  7. 7- Bake the Chocolate Hazelnuts Cake for about 45 minutes.
