The Melaccio Cake is an easy to make and delicious apple cake perfect for autumn. His name “melaccio” literally means “bad male apple” which means it’s not a luxury cake. It’s super easy to make, in fact we’ll only need of a large bowl, some spoons and a knife, nothing more. Ingredients
- 200 gWhite Yogurt
- 100 gPlain Flour
- 100 gWholemeal Flour
- 50 gGround Almonds
- 50 gGround Walnuts
- 100 gBrown Sugar
- 5Apples
- 50 gSunflower Oil
- 1 teaspoonBaking Powder
- 1 teaspoonGround Cinnamon
Preparation
1- Preheat the oven to 325°F/180°C; Line a 9 inch springform cake pan with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray, set aside.
2- Peel the Apples and chop them into small pieces, grind the Almonds and Walnuts using a food processor, set aside.
3- Put White Yogurt, Sunflower Oil and Brown Sugar in a large bowl, mix the ingredients with a spoon until smooth.
4- Add the Almonds, Walnuts, Plain Flour, Wholemeal Flour, Baking Powder and Cinnamon, keep mixing until well combined.
5- Finally add the Chopped Apples to the mixture then mix again until well combined.
6- Pour the mixture into the cake pan, level well using the back of a spoon or a spatula.
7- Bake the Melaccio Cake for about 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
